JCs Wildlife Classic Cedar & Poly Wren, Chickadee, Warbler Birdhouses!
Classic Cedar & Poly Wren House (yellow)
This simple, classic design will be attractive hanging in your yard or landscaping. Available in 4 different roof colors – yellow, red, green and blue. The coated wire cable makes hanging a snap, and is designed to keep the house level when hung. Built-in ventilation holes or gaps allow for proper air circulation for the nesting birds.
Classic Cedar & Poly Wren House (red)
The side panel opens for easy clean-out. Please remember that once the young birds have fledged and the house is 100% empty, the old nest should be removed to make way for the next tenant. You should never allow old nesting material to accumulate in the house. Birds will not use the old nest; instead, they will construct a new one over the top of the old one. Therefore, the old one should always be removed so they can start building at the bottom of the box.
Classic Cedar & Poly Wren House (green)
Your wren house should be hung 4′ to 10′ off the ground in a well shaded area. Try to find a location around the outskirts of your yard that may be more open and not as “active”. The house should face away from the prevailing winds and weather. Wrens prefer a shrubby area where they can forage for insects close to the nest. Please ensure there is a clear path in and out of the hole.
Classic Cedar & Poly Wren House (blue)
The body of the house is made out of cedar. Cedar is one of the most popular woods used in the construction of birdhouses and feeders. It’s a wood that weathers well and will hold up for years. It has a natural ability to repel problem insects. The roof is made of poly lumber. This material is made from recycled milk jugs and is guaranteed to not fade, split or crack due to weather conditions.
JCs Wildlife Post Mount Cedar & Poly Wren House with Predator Guard (red)
Just like it’s little cousin above, our Post Mount Wren House is constructed of cedar wood with a poly lumber roof. This house has been designed to either be attached to a tree or post by using the pre-drilled hole on the upper end of the extended back side. Once again, we recommend mounting this house 4′-10′ off the ground with an unobstructed path into and out of the hole. A good mix of sun and shade is ideal, and we recommend placement away from high activity or where pets may frequent. The installed predator guard gives the resident birds some extra security. This guard provides some added distance from the front of the hole into the nest cavity, so predators who may want to access the eggs or baby birds will have more difficulty reaching them.

A Carolina Wren may decide to make a home in your birdhouse!
In my opinion, the Carolina Wren is one of the chattiest little birds in North America. Yeah, the Northern Mockingbird still wins the grand prize; however, this little wren can belt out a song you might think comes from a bird ten times its size! These guys (and gals) are curious foragers. Their diet mainly consists of insects, but if you offer some crumbled up peanut suet in a feeder, they will come. My experience with the Carolina Wren is that when they raise a family in your nest box and the young birds fledge, they will stay in the area as a family for quite some time. Imagine seeing 4-5 of these little birds hopping around in your yard searching for insects. It is quite entertaining! As I said earlier, they are quite curious and adventuresome. Leave your shed door open and they’ll venture inside to have a look around. These are great, fun birds to attract by hanging a JCs Classic Wren House in your yard!
This Carolina Chickadee is in the market for a new house!
Ah, yet another “Carolina” bird. This time the Carolina Chickadee. Chickadees are a bit smaller yet than their wren cousins. And they like to chatter. They will enter your yard, usually in pairs, just chattering back and forth to each other. They are more quirky than the wren and not quite as curious; although they are very social little birds. I have had them fly up and perch on the back of an adjacent chair while I’m enjoying my morning coffee on the patio. It’s like they’re saying “Good morning” before flitting off to the next adventure. We have 2 types of Chickadees in the US – the Carolina and the Black-Capped. The Black-Capped occupy the northern and western areas, while the Carolina, as you may have guessed, inhabit the southeastern fourth of the country. They are very much alike and difficult to tell apart. No matter what type of Chickadee spends time in your yard, they would be great residents to have in your JCs Wildlife Classic Chickadee House!
